Artist Statement
My art is a reflection of my inner world and a dialogue with society. Through sculpture, performance, video art, and painting, I explore themes of identity, tradition, and the position of women in contemporary culture. My work is deeply personal, often capturing the rawness of my emotions and the struggles of navigating societal expectations.
I am drawn to the power of art as a medium to provoke thought, evoke emotion, and inspire change. By confronting vulnerability and resilience, I aim to challenge perceptions and create spaces where audiences can connect with their own experiences and truths. Each piece I create is an invitation for introspection and a call for empathy.
Georgette Yvette Ponté is a Croatian multidisciplinary artist with a Master’s degree in Sculpture. Her artistic practice spans sculpture, performance, video art, and painting, with a focus on exploring themes of identity, societal expectations, and the position of women in contemporary society.
Georgette completed her formal education at the Academy of Fine Arts, specializing in sculpture, where she honed her technical skills and developed a distinct artistic voice. Her work is deeply personal, often reflecting her emotional state and experiences, while provoking strong reactions from audiences. Through her performances, she engages viewers on a visceral level, creating immersive experiences that evoke empathy and introspection.
Driven by a passion for storytelling and social commentary, Georgette’s art challenges norms and invites dialogue about the human condition. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries and events, with each piece serving as a testament to her commitment to authenticity and emotional resonance.
